Calder Casino & Race Course
Calder's 104,000 square foot casino opened its doors in January 2010. The new building is quite spacious and
handsomly decorated. There are over 1,200 machines (slots, video poker and video blackjack), a bar, and three dining establishments.
Video Poker - Calder has only a limited selection of video poker machines.
Casino & Poker Hours - 9AM to 3:00AM Monday-Thursday. 24 hours weekends. Live Poker - Studz Poker Room opened in 2009. It is located in the first floor of the grandstand and has 29 tables. Games include Texas Hold'em, Omaha, and 7 Card Stud. They generally schedule 2 or 3 tournaments each day (in addition to sit-n-go's), as well as an assortment of promos (high hand, aces cracked, royal flush awards). Racing - Calder's thoroughbred season runs from late April until early January. The oval consists of a one mile dirt track and a 7 furlong turf course. Two of the biggest days on Calder's annual stakes schedule are the Festival of the Sun (October) and Florida Million Day (November). Simulcast Wagering - Bet on thoroughbred races from around the country. The simulcast is open daily, year round.
Tropical Gardens Buffet - Includes a carving station, an Italian station with a brick pizza oven,
a Pacific Rim station with gas fired woks, a salad bar and desserts.
Twin Spires Tavern - A casual and somewhat trendy bar and restaurant. The menu includes appetizers,
steaks, sandwiches, salads, and a variety Latin and/or Caribbean influenced entrees.
Front Runner's - This is a snack bar offering hot dogs, deli sandwiches, pizza, and similar fare.
Center Bar - Free live entertainment Friday and Saturday evenings.
Calder is located on County Line Rd between NW 27 Ave and the Florida Turnpike. It is just north of Dolphin Stadium.
